Shaped by Otter Creek
I grew up running the muddy banks of Otter Creek, drawn to the feel of clay beneath my feet. My journey deepened when my mother brought home a pottery wheel my grandfather gave to us. Spinning clay became a way to slow down and reconnect—with simplicity, imagination, and nature. That connection remains at the heart of my work.
Formed by purpose
River Clay Studio exists to foster connection through clay, grounded in place, process, and community. Inspired by the rhythm of Otter Creek, I create functional pottery for everyday use and offer visiting clay workshops that invite others - especially children and families - to slow down, explore, and create by hand.
Grounded in something greater
The bigger picture behind my mission is to nurture lasting connection through creativity. Through handmade pottery and shared clay experiences, the goal is to help people slow down, create with intention, and carry a lifelong sense of grounding, confidence, and connection to the natural world.
